I've attached my submission of a mother and daughter in SL at a location in Wastelands which is one of the most hostile looking environments in SL. The child in despair runs towards her mother, towards safety, towards life. Along her path she even drops one of her most precious possessions being her favorite doll. Nothing matters anymore as long as she gets to her mother. This pictures the relation of woman and life in a particular way. The woman being a mother, bringer of life and safehaven to her child.

This image exemplifies for me the transformative power of virtual worlds to give women new possibilities and identities no matter their real life circumstances. In Second Life, women have the possibility to take on second careers as artists, fashion designers, musicians, DJs, models or builders while maintaining their real life roles.

I work all day in RL then work in SL. Designing and creating is good for the soul for renewal. This is my island I created created from the ground up. There are no limits except in imagination in Second Life, which is incredibly freeing.
